Jules Arsene Garnier was a French painter and illustrator. He was a student at the École supérieure des beaux-arts de Toulouse and joined the studio of Jean-Léon Gérôme at the École des beaux-arts de Paris. He began at the Salon in 1869, where he exhibited until 1889.
Jules was the author of scenes from medieval and anecdotal genres, such as Le Supplice des adulteres which he sends to the Salon in 1876. His work was not really in the erotic genre, I found a few however that stand out due to their bdsm related nature.
